AID Atlanta

AID Atlanta is a non-profit, community-based AIDS services organization, serving individuals infected and affected by the AIDS epidemic. The mission of AID Atlanta is to empower HIV positive Georgians to live independent, productive lives, and to deliver world class educational programs that help stop the spread of HIV by reducing at-risk behaviors in targeted populations.

AIDS Survival Project

AIDS Survival Project is committed to providing people living with HIV the most up-to-date information and support they need to lead healthy, productive lives. Founded in Atlanta by a small group of concerned, dedicated people with AIDS, our organization now offers vital tools for living to people throughout Georgia and beyond while maintaining our grassroots, community-based focus. Our services are still offered free of charge to anyone affected by the AIDS crisis, regardless of HIV status.

Atlanta Lesbian Health Initiative

The mission of the Atlanta Lesbian Cancer Initiative is to provide education, advocacy, and services in support of lesbians with cancer, their partners, and their families.

Atlanta Feminist Women's Health Center

Since 1977, the Feminist Women's Health Center (FWHC) has worked to serve and engage a diverse population of women through service, education and advocacy. As Atlanta's only non-profit comprehensive gynecological health care facility, we have earned an outstanding reputation for providing quality health care and community health education, while also working unceasingly to protect all reproductive choices for all women.

Positive Impact

The mission of Positive Impact is to facilitate culturally sensitive mental health and prevention services for people affected by HIV. The agency was founded in 1992 in response to a growing need for no-cost mental health counseling programs. Since its inception, Positive Impact has served over 2000 clients with direct services, and thousands of other clients and mental health professionals through training, and education. The agency has grown steadily, expanding its programs and services to include psychiatric assessments and neuropsychological testing, prevention programs, outreach to homeless individuals living with HIV, group support for clients recovering from substance abuse, and a Hispanic program serving Spanish-speaking clients. During the 2000 program year, clients participated in 2,316 individual counseling sessions and 3,081 support and therapy group interactions.

Project Open Hand

Since its inception, thousands of volunteers from all walks of life have come together to help prepare, package and deliver over 5 million meals to thousands of men, women and children living with and affected by AIDS and other critical illnesses or disabilities. Not one day of delivery has been missed, no eligible client has ever been turned away and no waiting list has ever been maintained.
